Swim Lessons

Adella started taking swimming lessons last week at Tadpoles Swim School which is right down the street from where we live. The pool is in the instructors back yard, it’s a salt water solar heated pool that is around 87 degrees so it’s great for toddlers. The lessons are private, 15 minutes long, and 4 days a week. The first few days I had to go hide so Della couldn’t see me annnnd she cried. I think the hardest part was getting her used to being with someone she didn’t know. She doesn’t go to daycare or have any babysitters other than family, so being with someone she didn’t know was a little shocking. By day 3 she was comfortable and excited to go swim with “Miss Alex”. She went from clenching on to me, to happily jumping in the pool with her instructor. Tim went the last day and got in the water with them so that he could continue working on everything Miss Alex taught her, but Della wanted to swim with Miss Alex instead.

This is the face she makes when anticipating going under, and she lets out a little squeal of excitement…

Swimming alone with flippers…

Jumping in to Miss Alex and turning around to grab the wall...

Done…

…with the nursery and mobile project I took on. It came out pretty cute and looks adorable as it sways with the slightest breeze. It’s made from quilting rings and little wood cut-out’s. Now we just need the bebe to come! I’m still having irregular contractions and have the waddle down pretty good now. Tomorrow I see the doctor so hopefully she can somehow get things going if I am not in labor before then. At least I will have made it to Adella’s last swim lesson tomorrow. She is (as she puts it) “swimming like a fish, no turtle”. Will post pics of her swimming with Miss Alex tomorrow!

The Nursery

I have been running around trying to get last minute finishing touches done with the nursery. Still working on a little mobile for him, for some reason I decided to make one myself… I wish we hadn’t waited till the last minute to work on his room, it’s been giving me anxiety even though he won’t be in there for a while. Lesson learned. Here’s how it looks:

Summer Nights

We haven’t really had a chance to make it to the beach for a bonfire and bbq this year, so we got a little hand me down fireplace from my parents for our own backyard. Now all we need are some marshmallows!

Adella stayed up WAY past her bedtime and got a little crazy….

Tutu’s Playroom

Tutu recently converted part of my old bedroom into a magical playroom for Adella. After I moved out it was used for storage and all the random things that had no home. She purchased most of the pieces from Ikea, Homegoods, and Target. But you would never know. The other part of the room is now a music room, where Adella listens to old Disney records over and over again. I have so many fun memories of playing in my grandparents playrooms when I was little and I know our kids will adore this one. Thanks Tutu. Now go ahead and drool.

The dress up corner is my favorite part.

I had to include this one of Adella struggling to get Tim’s beer with such determination.
